About Thea Rostant

Intimates, Activewear & Loungewear Designer with a decade of experience designing for international brands across New Zealand, China, Spain and the UK. I combine my love for the outdoors with specialised lingerie and sportswear industry experience to create highly wearable and commercially viable products.
Beginning my career designing for international brands at a fashion manufacturer in China gave me valuable knowledge and understanding of the realities of global fashion production. I designed for a variety of brands with differing aesthetics and price points — from Victoria's Secret and GapFit to Pleasure State and Mountain Warehouse — and I bring this experience into every role.
As a highly collaborative person who genuinely enjoys working in a team, I find idea generation and problem solving especially energising. Inspiration comes through a variety of channels, whether it's runway shows, social media trends or solving a specific functional issue — all are equal drivers in creating seasonal ranges.
Design Philosophy
Great design lives at the intersection of beauty and function. Every piece I design starts with the wearer — how it moves with the body, how it makes someone feel, and whether it earns a place in their wardrobe for years rather than seasons.
I believe in commercial viability as a design constraint, not a compromise. Understanding factory capabilities, price architecture and sell-through data makes the creative process sharper, not smaller. The best ranges are the ones that connect with customers and perform in market.
My outdoor life informs my design sensibility — a respect for materials, an appreciation for garments that truly perform, and the conviction that comfort and luxury are not opposites.
